My Technomate TM5402 arrived this morning. I have just done scans for all free channels on Astra 19E and Eutelsat 13E. A number of the Astra transponders seem to be missing from the resulting channel list, and when I go into Satellite setup and then down to Transponder, a flick through the list of available transponders reveals some missing. Many, including 10.744H and 11.494H,are not seen by the system, although channels on these transponders are listed by Astra 1KR/1L/1M/1N at 19.2°E - LyngSat . I therefore cannot get any of the NDR HD channels or ARD Das Erste HD. The signal level is 97% and quality is 82%. Why is it not picking up some transponders?

What version of the TM5402HD do you have ? M1,M2 or M3 (M1 has no version on the panel)

TM-5402HD CI. Must be M1 as no other info present.

The first three or four scans counted 83 transponders, a more recent scan has picked up 95, but some transponders are still not visible to the system. although my reserve SilverCrest system picked them up OK. I'm still not sure exactly which ones are not picked up, but ARD Das Erste HD is on 11.494H, which does not appear even on a blind search.

The M1 is notorious for signal drop out with some Lnb's on the high power satellites @ 28.2 east.19.2 east & 13 east,

For example if I fit an Inverto Black Ultra 0.2 to my 88ch dish I have the same problem that you have described,
So I have fitted a 0.1 Technomate Lnb & all the signals are restored,

I have never been a fan of Monoblocks as these can also lead to signal loss,
To restore your signals over the whole Ku band change to 2 single Lnb's with a 2 way DiSEqC switch.

This is a 3 Lnb set up 28.2 east / 19.2 east / 13 east on a 88cm dish that I have now motorised.

This attached photo shows where several transponders are missing. There are others missing, notably 10.744H.

Two LNBs would require an extra cable installation, which would be a problem where I live. Would this LNB be an improvement? Technomate TM-2M 6 Degree Twin Monoblock 0.1dB LNB - Full HD & 3D

It would be nice if that was possible, but the dish is high up the wall and inaccessible.

I have just discovered what the "Network Search" button does. The previous time I tried it, it made no difference. However the transponder list has gone up from 95 to 111! Unfortunately 10.744H is still not listed. I am wondering if an inline LNB signal booster would be a good idea? Would this work with the Technomate on HotBird and astra 1? Signal boosters are not a good addition as they mainly amplify the noise from the Universe so you gain no extra signal,

The problem is with your current dish / Lnb set up as you cannot reach it then contact a professional CAI satellite installer.

Have you manually entered the transponder details? I hardly ever bother with network scans and like to make sure everything is right by checking with various transponder listings sites like Lyngsat.

Forget 10714 - its a HEVC UHD channel - you cant watch it on your TM. The channel should scan but will turn up in your radio list as the receiver cant handle the HEVC video.

The other one has "standard" DVB-S2 8PSK parameters which need a higher quality signal to lock successfully. Have a look at this list

FlySat Astra 1KR/1L/1M/1N @ 19.2° East

and see if the the ones you are missing are all DVB-S2 8PSK. If they are it would suggest a dish problem - marginal misalignment probably

It was 10.744 not 10.714... but that one is now showing up without any problem since I learned what the "Network Search" button was for! :)

However I still cannot receive some channels that the SilverCrest picked up, eg: most of the WDR (and other) channels on 12.422. Something is still amiss.

DVB-S/MPEG-2 22000 5/6 is an easy transponder to pick up from Astra 1M @ 19.2 east I can get all the transponders here with a 60cm region 2 mini dish,

11494 H
DVB-S2/8PSK 22000 2/3 no problems with this transponder with a smaller dish than you are using,

So you have an Installation problem most of it comes from your Monoblock Lnb that is blocking some signals as it is not as compatible with the TM5402HD as the Silver Crest was.

Got a DECT phone near the receiver or the cabling? - That frequency is close to the high band black spot.

OK thanks guys, those two transponders are now working on the TM5402. However I had to do a blind search on 12.422H. This returned a whole load of subscription channels which cannot be viewed, however Radio Bremen TV and the WDR channels on that transponder do not show at all. This seems strange.

No, not guilty on that one.

I think a lot of HotBird channels are also not showing up.

An extra cable? How do you mean?

You can combine several LNBs with a diseqc switch to the one cable, that enters the house.
A monoblock LNB has the diseqc switch inside, so there a single cable suffies also.

That is because you are not picking up 19.2 east channels as there are no subscription channels on 12422 H on this frequency @ 19.2 east
Can you please name the subscription channels that you found.
