Hmm well I've just had a look at some French boards and can't see it mentioned. That aside, they guarantee the card will remain valid for 4 years so I don't see as they could go back on that in replacing all cards in July/August; mine was bought in Summer 2008 so that gives me until next year by CanalSat's own T&Cs.

However, I'd assumed that TNTSat was already using Viaccess 4.0 but I think that's actually just the newest CanalSat cards. I have heard things about Viaccess 3.0 TNTSat being hacked as well actually... I guess we'll just have to wait and see for more information.

If it does turn out to be true though, well... I'd better ask a French friend to receive my replacement card for me!

I have some more information on the proposed card change which will hopefully clear some things up for everyone concerned :) -

Your current card will still run for the advertised 4 year period. The on screen messages will only start in July for the first people who bought TNTSat boxes at the start of 2008. The messages give you a 6 month warning and these people will need to get a new card by the start of 2012.

To explain further, I got my card in August 2008 so I won't get an on-screen message until early next year, and my card will stop working in August 2012.

The article suggests a progressive changeover of cards as they come up for renewal, however it also states that after mid-2009 all new cards have been Viaccess 4.0 and not 3.0 as Viaccess stopped providing 3.0, so seeing as 4.0 hasn't been hacked as far as I'm aware, people who bought after mid 2009 may not have to change depending on whether 4.0 gets hacked before mid-2013 I guess!

Yeah there haven't been any changes for quite a while now. I guess they're not wasting their time since it's already been compromised maybe.

I've switched over to OSCAM with CCCam as Hypercam always had the tendency to crash after a while - fine for flicking but if I wanted to record a film it'd crash part way through and the rest of the recording would fail. Tried a different image and it made no difference. OSCAM/CCCam seems to work great though, (touch wood).

I use a recent OSCAM build (the older ones don't work apparently), and CCCam 2.2.1. Takes a bit of setting up but I got there in the end. I'll post the details if anyone wants them.

My TNTSat card has stopped working in my DM7000 recently. I use Hypercam 2.11 which has worked without problems for months. Anyone else confirm this?

Where is the best place to get Oscam to install on a DM7000 in simple client mode without any further configuration? I use a Gemini Image.

Ahh this makes sense! Thanks for that.

I wondered why CCCam had stopped decoding the channels with OSCam as the server. I turned off CCCam and just enabled OSCam on its own; the channels clear fine and I thought nothing more of it - but I'll know now not to bother trying to put CCCam back on. (In fairness, in DVB-api mode it works better on my receiver as the extended info-bar on the EDG Nemesis image shows the decode information properly which it doesn't do when using CCCam as a client.)

I'll PM you WillowMan; it involves putting some keys in the config so I don't think I should be posting it publicly.

Yes my card is one of the old Viaccess 3.0 ones and will run out next August as I bought it in August 2008. Just need to work out how I'm going to replace it before then. To be honest I'm tempted to just go over and get a whole new receiver as it's fairly likely that the new Viaccess 5.0 cards won't work in Linux boxes from the off and I really don't want to be back to using the old Strong 6410 I have which is a real pile of crap!

It's a real problem trying to watch French TV. For years I bought a TPS card which worked fine in my DM7000. When TPS was taken over by Canal+ I bought a BIS card but I found the quality was not as good. I bought a TNTSat Sagem ISD91 HD in 2008 which is ok for watching HD on the main channels. The card expires next year and I am going to have to find a French address to replace it. I bought a Strong 6420 last summer to a get a card for my DM so I could record. It is useful to record from 19E as Canal+ transmit subtitles which can be demuxed out into a text file so you can get a script of a programme - useful for learning French. You can't get subtitles on 5W.

I wish the EU would open this up. I understand that the telcos want to stop piracy but I think you should be able to buy subscriptions legally in another EU country? Some people blame pressure from Murdoch, Bellasconi and Disney for this. Maybe recent events in the media might open this up.

I gave up trying to read a TNTSat card on my DM7000 after struggling with Oscam which I couldn't get to work.
Does anyone know of any combinations of image and CAM that work?
I have also seen reports that there are also AES key problems at present.

works perfect on Oscam here....

Just follow the how-to:

_http://www.streamboard.gmc.to/wiki/OSCam/fr/examples/Sky_HD_and_MTV-Unlimited

and you will need to google to get the AES keys...

hi ,
the only way to make it work is to use dvbapi mode as TNTSAT is using non standard ECM lenght and all classical versions of CCcam/newcamd/Camd3 wont manage it show me your configuration ( oscam.config/oscam.server/oscam.user ) and i will help you make it run no problems ;) ..best regards

PS: dont put keys here please , we can exchange these data thru PM but i want to discuss this publicaly so is usefull for every one :) ..cheers
