And me! At least the Mr Bean bit - his other work is fine.

Yes, I have to admit a liking for 'Blackadder', though I count that as more of liking for the series rather than him. Here (as I feel this thread slipping away from Clarkson's curried fingers) 'Mr.Bean' is really popular but then so is 'Benny Hill'......

We're currently about half-way through our Black Adder DVD Box-set ................ most of those (again, apart from the "specials") are pretty darned good efforts by the man who drove his McLaren F1 into a tree.

Can take or leave Clarkson, he can be funny on occasions and tedious/predictable much of the time, but no questioning his and the show's popularity.

So were public hangings, bear baiting and dog fights. Doesn't mean that they were right.

And, if may follow up a slight tangent, Benny Hill was good in some of his very early stuff and in interviews was obviously a clever guy but those later shows - yeurghhh. Unfortunately, unlike Rowan Atkinson, he doesn't have lot of the good stuff still available.

BlackAdder's Christmas Carol was rather good.

Hmm. Curate's Egg job in my own humble opinion.

But it was certainly better than "Back and Forth"

That's what you get when you're king of the hill(Clarkson). You can say what you think/feel/like, knowing that, you can slip and still stay on top, but since you are on the top and you're alone, you don't have anyone to push you off, so you won't be rolling down the hill.

There's only so far he can go though, no one is untouchable. Step too far out of line and like anyone he'd get the chop. Clarkson is all tongue in cheek, we know he's a dick and says things that could offend, but nothing that goes that step too far, as far as I know. He does what he does, and that's why people like him, would be disappointing if he behaved.

The toilet seat incident, anyway I think may have been a bit of a joke against Richard Hammond who had the trots for much of the trip ( might have been a diffent road trip, cant remember) Even if it wasn't, we have all heard of Delhi belly, there must be reason for that, I.e some truth.

I'd much rather listen/watch Clarkson than, quite frankly, offensive "comedians" like Frankie Boyle..... But then, I wouldn't watch TG without him...
