Read on another forum that a Triax 120 cm will be available soon.Seems to be a lot o hush hush about it so I don't know if it's true.

Maybe it won't be as heavy as the Gibertini 120 so it could be very interesting for us who uses Diseqc motors.

The problem is that there is no dish with a size between Gibertini 100 and 120.The Triax td 110 isn't a "real" 110 cm,if you compare it practically with a Gibertini 100 it's only slightly better, about 0,3 dB:s

Anyone else heard anything?

Been searching for this thing for about 6 months now since I became aware of its existence. This is the only proof I can find of a 120cm Triax anywhere.

E-Mailed Triax directly and they were happy to provide me with my nearest disributor. However I didn't ask for any more tech info. :-bash Doh

Why primefocus on such a small dish?

You loose the blockage from the LNB and feedarms, maybe 5-10cm effective area.

Would not work better than a real 1,1m Offset dish.

I'll see if the nice man at Triax will talk to me again and shed any light on what exactly the case is with this antenna.

If I get any news I'll drop it into this thread.

The one I saw at Mediacast and the CAI show was an offset, I believe that it is in circulation at the moment, but haven't seen one in the wild yet. :)

Good god it's a steel dish, weight 27 kg:s!!! Not possible to fit on a Diseqc motor. Hope they make an ALU version too. This week seems to be full of disappointments but thank's anyway Lancelot.

Too bad it's in steel, anyone bought one?

I am setting up a system for a family in southern France to receive Thor, indications seems to be that 1.2m dish should be enough.

I was thinking of getting the Kathrein 1.2m Offset dish which seems really high-end.

I have a picture below of it, the price is around 500 euro and it's aluminium and professional quality.

Why don't you use a Gibertini 125? Quality is not as good as the Kathrein but it's much cheaper and it should do the job OK.

The gain specs of the Gibertini dish is pretty bad compared to other 1.2m dishes, eg 41.3dB at 10,95GHz, i wouldn't choose that dish.

I can get the Channel Master 1.2m or the Prodelin 1.2m dish from distributor for around $200 including feed, both very good dishes.

If it's the Kathrein cas 120 you mean it's gain is not much higher than the Gibby's: 10.70-11.70 41.5 dB.

Anyway this sounds like the best alternative compared to the price:

Price doesn't matter so much in this case.

Anyway, everyone is talking about Gibertini, but they have lousy performance.

The Gibertini OP120 is in reality 125cm and it's performance at 10.95GHz is 41.3dBi

The Kathrein CAS120 is having a gain of 42.15dBi at 10.95GHz.

That's almost 1dBi that differ, pretty big difference.

I think i go with Prodelin anyway, they got a better mount than Channel Master and they perform equal.

When looking at Triax site all their dishes seems to be all steel.

I wonder how much the 1.2m Triax costs? it got good performance according to the specs.
