Is that a pre-Brexit aggression?
Sky viewers will get a stupid ad -filled low key pop pipe instead of TV5?
that looks like a bad omen or?

One has to blame Sky financial decisions on something, why not brexit? it will be the excuse for the next 20 years and is already worn thin

To restore TV-5 Monde Europe add 19.2 east Astra-1 via another 45cm dish or dual Lnb set up on a 60cm dish,
FlySat Astra 1KR/1L/1M/1N @ 19.2° East,

Even better than that go motorised with a 100cm dish & get TV-5 Orient from 26 east as well as TV-5 Monde Europe @ 13 east there are endless possibilities to restore your viewing of TV-5,
Badr 4 at 26.0°E - LyngSat
FlySat Hot Bird 13B/13C/13E @ 13° East
Thank you for a very nice suggestion...only the tv5Orient signal is pretty weak, but, yes, interesting!

You can get many French channels for free in your region with a small dish pointing to other satellites. For the cost of a motor and receiver with DiSEqC drive capability, le monde est ton coquillage.

Is there really a dish size restriction to 1m in France ?

no not that I know as long as you don t live in a Unesco heritage site of course...
I was mainly thinking at the access to non-English culture of people with a Sky feed...

as a comparison,Canal plus gives a whole bunch of German channels, and Spanish and the usual BBC world ,cnn ,sky news ,& the like.
I thought that such a small access to another language for the little space it occupies could be kept...
and if replaced why such a useless channel like "starz" .Just my idea
Of course I get a lot of French channels here ,from a lot of sources,DTTV,online "box" ,dish etc... happy as can be
Hope it lasts

TV5 Monde was on Sky for years & is one of the most widely distributed channels in the world (so they say), what a stupid decision to replace it with yet another crappy music channel that plays the same tripe that the rest of the UK music channels play

Nothing whatsoever to do with a Sky decision to lose and then replace it. The channel closed down (for whatever reason - it had been FTA for most if not all of that time), it was not a subscription or FTV channel and the vacant EPG slot was almost certainly purchased by Starz (Sky's SD EPG launch queue is still closed so it would not have been allocated to them by Sky).

I suggest you learn a little more how this works before making such statements.

i thought the SD EPG queue was open again but obviously was incorrect, for which i apologize. i wasnt saying Sky removed it btw, was just saying its abit crap that its been removed & what has gone in its place. it was encrypted for awhile when it was first on Sky as part of the basic package but that didnt last long & it went FTA. wasnt Straz on Sky before or was that an unrelated channel with the same name ?
