first i have an old Pace sky box but it has no chan5 or fiver plus or 5 usa....it has a blue ftv card
Can i manually download theses channels.
I have a thompson box in the next room off the same dish and have all these.
I live in Bulgaria so i know about not getting all channels but from one box to the other ???? not sure.

Second
i received my new White freeview card and put it into my thompson box and after they turned it on i lost ITV an chan 5 etc??????????
So i put the blue card back in and eventually they all came back.

Has the card being activated by Sky....?
New cards come not actiavted so you have to contact them to activate your card.

Many ITVs are available for free without a sky card.
As is one version of Five (Astra 2d H - same frequency as BBC2)

Yes there are several UK regions whereby channel FIVE is mapped to 2d.

There is one version of Five which is FTA and that is on 10773 H 22000 5/6. It was crammed on to a BBC Transponder on Astra 2D at the launch of the Freesat Platform.

It can be received on a Sky Box via Add Channels/Other Channels.

All other versions of Five are Encrypted and will only appear on EPG 105 with an active Card.

Both on free to view channels
One gets fiver usa and fiver the other does not..
The one that gets fiver etc does not get ITV
Why ????

I dont pay for any viewing channels as we live in Bulgaria but they wont affect the problem

hi,
try to swap the boxes and see what happens.
if the box that doesn't get the channels work in the other possion it could be the cable line or the lnb output.
if the box works then take lines and swap them at the dish.
one lnb output of the 2 could be defective and stuck in one polarization
or one line could be bad
or one receiver could have a different tuner and is not sensitive and will not pick up the weeker signal on astra 2 d

Well the first thing that comes to mind is that Blue Cards are in the process of being "killed". Many are already dead and the rest will be dead within weeks, owing to the almost completed exercise to change to the new White Cards.

As for ITV, that's slightly tricky as it may depend not only upon the state of health of your Cards, but also what Postcode a Card which lives on is registered to:

Some ITV Regions are FTA on Astra 2D, but some are FTV on 2B North. This is a benefit for those with valid Cards and suitable Postcodes as those Regions are going to be easier to catch.

What is your Astra 2D reception like? Good, Patchy or non-existent?

But without a live Card, your 103 reverts by default to ITV Central West (Not too sure exactly what the current name is, as they do seem to mess about with them). If that's one of the FTV ones, then you can't decode it. (Hopefully someone can confirm exactly what the ITV default Region is).

Just checked: The Default (No Card/Dead Card) 103 is indeed Central West and it is FTA on 2D 10758 V 22000 5/6.

So if/when your Blue Cards die, that's what you'll have available - whether or not your location/dish size might prevent that .............

Edit: At the time of this and my previous Post, the Threads were separate and the one I replied to did not contain any reference by the OP to White Cards.
