UK spot beam variances in Spain ( and elsewhere )

As many are aware you can get most of the UK spot beams on a 1.2 m and above dish in my area of Spain, with the exception of some of the ITV HD channels, and it would seem a few others such as 12129 V which is much lower than the others.

I´m going to run some tests across a range of txp´s and would like to know if others here in Spain, or other fringe areas are having the same problem.

For example on 12129 V my Fam 1.8 is only receiving 6.9 dB while 10817 V is 10.9 dB

Would also like to know if there is a big difference in the intended target area, ie, variation between Southampton and Glasgow.

Looks like Gandia is not being as badly effected as here ( Formentera del Sugura )

strange one, 11343 v 10.7 on the Fam, 11.5 on the Lam

Will check to see if spectrum can see anything causing local noise, but doubt it is the problem as I was getting similar levels ( and variance ) on another 1.8 I was working on about 6 km further away in Quesada today.

For reference, the 1.2 can only see 10817 V 9 dB, nothing on any of the other 3 listed above 11343 v 7.5 dB

Off to airport now for SWMBO so will play a little more later.

Interesting that the northern fringes are seeing much less variation than we are south of target area.
Have just checked again now and 12129 V is up to 7.5 dB 10817 V also up, now 11.1 dB.
11052 H is unchanged, but 11097 V has dropped 0.5 dB. Hmmm?

Located in southern parts of Sweden I too see a big difference (values during the evening):

12129 V: 9,9 dB
10817 V: 12,2 dB
12304 H: 8,1 dB (by far the weakest)
11052 H: 9,7 dB
11097 V: 11,2 dB

Hadn´t checked 12304 H, until now. Here it is only 0.3 dB lower than 12129 V , currently 6.3 and 6.6 dB respectively. Your difference is still less than ours, I currently have a 4.5 dB variance between 12129 V and 10817 V.
Hoping LP will have a chance to have a look soon as he is about 18 km further south of me.

Just checked back to when this went live, back in December ( post 15 ) the variance was only 2.8 dB now 4.5 dB. Maybe the signal will improve as we go through the year?

Strong rumours that some or all UKTV channels coming to Freesat.

In Maidenhead on a 60cm dish, TM6900 quality readings:

12129 V: 89%
10817 V: 88%
12304 H: 89%
11052 H: 89%
11097 V: 90%

2G Europe tends to be the weakest, eg 11224H: 82%
2E/2F Europe are slightly down from UK spots, eg 11778H: 85%

Had a few comments today, so now I´m back at the castle decided to check 12129 V.
Only 6 dB on the Fam, 6.5 dB on the Laminas, about 1 dB down on the readings a few days ago at roughly the same time.
If it keeps on like this it will be a no go even on a 1.8 in my part of the world!

Thanks LP, down to 6 dB on the Laminas at the moment, gives me about 1 dB grace.
You´re only 18 - 20 km down the road, so the drop off is steep at high frequencies. Wonder what H can see ( big hint )

Checked this morning on the 1.2 motorised dish and getting 4.9dB slight pixelation, but nothing on the 1.2 a few days ago. Looks as though signal may have increased slightly. Will check on the 1.8´s later when I connect them up to the box.
