Its up to you... if you want a better interface and remote??
I had the Octogan SX88 for multistream it was a bit too simple and not nice remote. I ended up giving the box away.
If you buy the mutant 51 all you have to do is load open pli via USB.
Then FTP over the files in the posted link. No fancy expertise required!
If you plan to record i would go with Mutant 51.

i strongly recommend the OP buys a replacement remote if they get a Mutant as the one it comes with is rubbish tbh, doesnt respond properly to button presses & commands. im using an original Zgemma remote instead that i got from eBay for a few pounds. dont throw away the old remote tho as any replacement will need setting up again with the original remote if you do a factory reset etc. that being said its a good receiver bar its remote & with a better remote you will get alot more pleasure out of it. also handles low symbol rates & 4K out of the box.

timer recordings work flawlessly & fitting an internal HDD is a doddle, im using an old 1TB laptop HDD in mine.

also make sure you get the DVB-S2X tuners option or you wont get multistream. i have my motorised dish into one input & a fixed dish on 28.2°E on the other, so i always have access to the UK channels without having to move a dish.

HI All,
I've finally got around to updating our system since the big satellite change for the Ukrainian channels. However, in Leicester, I can't seem to pick up the Euro beam from Astra 4a. All I keep getting is channels form Eutelsat 7E.
The confusing thing is, I'm trying to get to Astra 4a . 12073H and what I keep getting on scans are channels on Eutelsat 7 11221H, which is a little worrying as the frequencies are not even close.

Our setup is a Vu+ duo with a 165cm prime focus dish that we've been using for a few years.

Anybody else seen this scenario before?

So that means that the dish is pointing at 7E and not 4.8E .. realign and all will be well .. what channels you actually getting ?

What are you using to align the dish ?

Your LNB settings are incorrect. The difference in the frequencies you quote is nigh on 850 MHz, which just so happens to be the same difference as there is between the 9750 MHz Low Band and 10600 MHz High Band Local Oscillator frequencies used by a Universal LNB.

Dive into the menus and select the correct LNB type and that part of your problem will be resolved.

Thank you! I was set to universal but I'm using my old Invacom (c120?) prime focus LNB, so I'm trying to dig out what the settings should be for that.

I also gathered I was pointing at the wrong bird but it was the only bird I could find that the receiver claims to receive a signal from on that frequency. But with that frequency not being on that bird, I was totally confused.

As for how I align, this is a prime focus motorised 165cm dish. First up I make sure everything is centered, the pole is plumb and tune to Thor 0.8W to get my centre point and tweak to within an inch of my life before using the stepper to search for each satellite I need. In this case, I've been unable to 'find' Astra 4a, yet with this set up, I should be able to get a signal on the european bean without even trying.

thanks again!

Thanks, that's the one I'm aiming for so we can pick up the Ukrainian channels, but just not getting it at all. I've got good signals on Hotbird, Eutelsat 9, 7E and even got a signal on some TPs on Amos 3/7, but, can't get anything on 4E.

By the way, this might help, there is a tree "in the way", about 10-15 metres ahead of the dish, about as high as a house. The centre of the dish is about 2m off the ground. So there is a good change the tree really isn't helping, although other birds are coming through which also have the tree in line of sight.
However, I would have imagined a 165cm dish would have still captured enough of a signal for such a strong TP as 11766

Yeah European beam can be had on a Sky minidish. It's possible that the tree is in the way but if you're getting 7E, then 5E is just a couple of nudges westwards. Do make sure your LNB setting is correct and try a different one.

Thanks, I've found the spec for the LNB and have the local oscillator set to 9750/10600, still not a sausage, but getting all the other birds just fine. Maybe it's just at a solid spot on that tree, I'll try a 90cm dish with a different LNB at a different point in the garden, when I can next weekend and see what I get. Wife is complaining how long I'm spending 'playing', but will be happy for the channels if/when we get them!

Last bit of info for today, the heads up on the LNB was great, thank you! I read a little about the local oscialltor and I managed to get 11766 and another TP by adjusting the threshold upwards so those TP fall into the lower band. I've not managed to get all TPs yet and the same trick didn't work to get the other TPs on Amos that I've been chasing, but, that tree can't be helping on the DXing side of things.

On some TPs I get the SNR jumping around from 0 to 40, or even to 99%. Doesn't seem to be just noise because nudging the positioner or changing the frequency stops it. I'm starting to look at that tree a little more closely. Maybe a little pruning is in order! At least a few feet off the top!

Thanks again, I'll post back when I have more news.

Unexplained variations in SNR can indeed be attributed to the tree waving in the wind...
