On ebay (item 281564035654 ), there is an unusal looking dish for sale.
Very unusual shape.
Seems to have waveguide(s) instead of LNBs leading to the back of the dish.
Clearly not for sat-reception, but what could it be??
(I dare speculate the seller does not know either!)

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Nothing wrong with waveguides for reception.

The dish shape is also pretty close to an elliptical design, to reduce sidelobe effect. Without knowing the size of the waveguides or antenna reflector, it's going to be difficult to determine the use once you have bought it.

From the description it sounds like one of those radar type dishes .

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

It could be a "Ka" band dish for a data up/down link used for a Point Of Sale, I've seen something like that at remote gas stations out in Wyoming, swipe your gas or ATM card at the pump and it sends the data out to the data processing center, pump goes active when your approved.

The waveguides look to be the right size, but something is missing from the front end, probably the forcing cone.

It's just that I have never seen a satellite-related dish with an electrically connceted (even multiple points) reflector (as can be seen on ebay photos).
Or a design where using wave-guides for feed-arms. And no feed(horn).
It's probably run-of-the-mill in radar-land, but I think it is very alien to my antenna-world... 8)

Any more photos of the back side and where the wave guides come together and end?

It is not prohibited to post links anymore ;) And, moreover, after Item is sold we will end up with lots of talking about some antenna and no pictures!
So, there are they
Seams to be heavy- for 2 persons only :D
I think price is too high.
