I have a motorised 1.2M Channel Master dish that I'm looking to optimise performance because installing a bigger dish is out of the question. Satellite Superstore (for example) lists a Channel Master Feedhorn although I can find no reference to this on the CM website (maybe not an actual CM product?).
Would I get a significant performance improvement from the feedhorn and a 0.3dB LNB over the 0.6dB LNB that I currently use? I appreciate that this is probably difficult to quantify in absolute terms - and I am not looking for specific improvement in any one area, I am just a "tinkerer" who wants to know he's getting the best from his system. I think I have a grasp of the reasoning behind the feedhorn principle.
So, waste of time or a worthwhile upgrade ie £100 or thereabouts well spent? And would a lot of fine tuning be required after installation - not that this is a huge problem because the dish sits proudly in the back garden?
Thanks for any opinions, Norm.
