Hi

I want to buy a "damaged" 7000S, the display only lights up blue and does not boot.

The question is: On my 5620, when I have a boot problem I get a flashing "Boot" in the display. This one has nothing in the disply. Are we looking at a really damaged one or is this simply a case of null modem cable?

Thanks, TG

Having had a play with a few of these now I would say first thing to do is see if you can add an image with null modem if yes a good start, A blue display is an early 7000s and is prone to boot loader corruption. This can be fixed with a cas 2 and jtag.
If it was me I would use the erase file first which I can give you if you want, second would be to flash with an original image if poss if not then jtag and again I can pass you the info if you need it.
The early 7000s also is prone to problems with the display and again if only that they can be bought for about 45 euro.
I guess the main thing is how much is it going to cost you?
I would not pay more than £50 and even then it is a gamble.
PM me if you want me to drivel on some moreO-zzz

Cheers Sonic, this is ok.
I did not buy it in the end as he price was too high...
But I will kep it in mind for the next one.

I would like to find a 7000 to replace my 5620 as I would like a hard drive.

Cheers, TG
