AMHERST, N.Y. A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to pay 308-thousand-dollars in a satellite television piracy case.

The U-S Attorney's office said yesterday that 68-year-old Walter Buchholz of Amherst pleaded guilty in June to making "Smart Cards" to steal satellite subscription and pay-per-view programming from DISH Network.
Buchholz was indicted in September 2004 in San Jose, California following an investigation by F-B-I Cyber Crime Squads there and in Buffalo.

Yep, pure greed, it is what was happening with ITV digital and I guess that if there was ever a card hack for Sky digital, the same would happen again, but on a bigger scale and I have to say that I have no sympathy for anyone selling the finished item.

Surely printing off 308 1000 dollar bills isnt going to break the bank.

(maybe one or two toner cartridges)
