Afternoon,

Just thinking a long way ahead here (probably the late Autumn) : which would be the most flexible USB tuner, and what might be the limitations, to plug into the little Acer HTPC (very small, no internal expansion slots, but lots of USB connectors) that I finally got working a few weeks ago and is now running W10 Pro?
(still getting back to dealing with the Solo2 setup, plus I need to free up a couple more cables from the dishes at the end of the garden by installing the Zone 2 dish & Octo that have been sitting in the garage for years to the rear wall of the house - the internal cables are already installed in the roof space, and so it's just a matter of fitting the dish, but that means I have to put a ladder in the neighbour's garden because the mounting point is over the end of my conservatory)

Thanks - Looks a reasonable choice, but seems very much aimed at mainstream 19E (possibly 13E as well) - is there anything else that would be (possibly) more flexible in terms of the PC control s/w?

Thanks - that looks more appealing, although it might need more PC processor"grunt" (possibly to be expected!) than the little ACER has.

Yes it looks good. I might get one myself, the CI feature is nice to have

Getting back to this thread:
Having now got some way towards getting the TM working in the lounge, with the ACER X275 PC/DVBSky S952 PCI-E Sat card soon to follow, that leaves the Solo2 plus the ACER N2620G nettop in the "office" (where they will now stay, which was not the original plan in Mid 2016), and I am thinking of adding a USB Sat tuner to the 2620 (very small, no internal expansion slots).

Had a look at the earlier suggestions, but the Hauppauge & Technotrend units only have Diseqc 1.0 and I would want USALS, but I'm having trouble finding something cheaper (<£100) than the very expensive TBS USB tuners - the only one I can seem to find is this Suntek SkyTV Ultimate 6 from WoS, but the specification info is sketchy to say the least.

So, has anyone any experience of that unit, or any of the others under £100 that might fit the bill?

Thanks in advance.

Evening

Well, I asked WoS for more tech info and their response was "less than encouraging" (saying that what is on their website is all they have!) but suggesting I look on the Sundtek site for more info - which turns out to be here.

Looks quite encouraging, and even more so was the speed and knowledge of the person (Markus) who responded to my contact message enquiry about Diseqc - seems it can handle all Diseqc modes, including USALS motor control, provided you connect the external PSU - what do you guys think?

Thanks

Not widely available at present (same is true for the Sundtek) but found that @ £109 at SatEuropa - sounds like a possibility, although I don't really need the CI slot in this case.
Also found (again) the DVBSky S960 - roughly same price as the Sundtek (£70) , but "not impressed" so far with the Chinese manufacturer's support, as I asked a question about a problem with the S952 and their s/w last Friday but still have not received any response.
