I have just moved into a house where there is an old sky dish and connections into the house. The seller took their sky box. Could this dish be used with any STB or would I need to use a Sky box to view freeview, and if so, which one would you recommend. Thanks.

If it was a recent Sky box (they move satellite positions when they went digital) then you can just connect any other receiver to the cable and you will get all the Free-To-View channels - BBC and ITV and lots of shopping channels etc.

You can pick up a FTV receiver off eBay or sometimes Lidl have them. They don't cost a lot or you could get an old Sky receiver that will also give you the free channels - without a card.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Big round dish or oval little dish?
