It is perhaps easier to modify the Fibo motor to use a reed switch :)

I have posted info and pics on how to do this previously, and also offered to help anybody to do the same. :D

Pics again, can use either one or two magnets for single or double counting. I use double counting on my V-box with no probs. :)

Where can I buy the parts from, I live in Norway and I don't think anyone sells stuff like that arround here. Is there anyone here who could get the parts for me and send them to me, I'll pay beforehand.

@Johnsattuk: I would greaty apreciate your help.

Are any of theese parts present in my old disec motor?

I have now dismanteled parts of my burglar alarm, and found a reed switch in the window alarm. It's designated S7641A, so hopefully I'm halfway there now.

Hi Baxter

As I said in my origional post some weeks ago, I am willing to help any fellow enthusiast who wants to mod. his motor in a similar fashion. :)

Just to clarify my position a little. :-rofl2

I have been retired a number of years and this is just one of my hobbies. I do not have or want any commercial dealings other than to cover my origional costs and P&P. Whilst not doing DIY kits, I will, if able, provide bits, info, whatever :D

The only extra bits required are a magnet/s and a reed switch.

I can :-

Let you have reed switches and magnets

Exchange your gear wheel for a drilled one. (You may well be able to drill your own, but requires a bit of care (soft brass teeth) and some engineering equipment. )
As I said in orig. post can use single or double magnets. Double magnets give more precision, but not all positioners can handle the freq. and/or total count. My V-Box II has no problems. I also drill a couple of extra holes to help c/balance this fast revolving gear with it's origional slot.

Modify your motor for you

I do have spare motors and could exchange a complete motor.

The mods. do not change anything to prevent a return to the origional optical sensor, though I don't see any reasons for wanting to. :confused

Please let me know what, if any, action you would like to persue.

John

Hi baxter

have PM'd you,
Which bits do you consider to be a 'set'. :confused

Is it a 'drilled gear wheel with magnets' plus 'pre-wired reed switch' plus 'grooved top bearing plate'. :)

The small 'optical board' is removed from the motor, requires three wires unsoldering, and the 'reed SW.' re-soldered in it's place, ignoring the 5v connection. The thin metal retainer used to retain the optical sensor now retains the reed SW. as pics.

Would need to be on an exchange basis with your un-modded parts, as the Fibo motors and bits are becoming rare. :(

I would send you the above bits, plus a spare pre-wired reed switch for £5 plus Postage.

Thanks for your help johnsatuk, as it happens I found all the parts needed at my own home. All I needed to do was dismantle one of my windowalarms, and now the motor isup and running, fantasticly simple realy.

VBOX modification.

At J3 you can take a 5 Volt wire.

Remove R3 and make a bridge for that 3300 Ohm R

Thats all.
