hi, has anyone got experience using a flash utility called GTROM_.EXE ? it's an STB updater used by several receivers of the Pansat / GlobalTeq family... i'm looking for a downloadable version that can be used safely on my FTA, a Pansat 2500A clone called IDSat Free 1001... so far i've just been able to find the Pansat version, which doesn't seem to be fully compatible... but i know that there are other versions too, somewhere...

maybe i should look in another direction though... i mean, if i can't find any suitable flash utility, maybe there's a way to enter keys manually... i've tried looking into it, but my receiver doesn't seem to have any STB menu... so i'm stuck... by now, i wonder if it's even possible to load keys onto an FTA receiver...

cheers

I don't know about your receiver, but in general FTA receivers don't have a menu for adding keys when you first buy them, because the maker intends you to only watch channels which are not scrambled.

However, some FTA receivers are able to be patched with a replacement operating system known as an EMU which emulates the machines that have card slots. Then your receiver will probably have a new menu for adding keys.

So keep searching for a forum that has emu software for your model. (This forum doesn't)
