How come that when I do a search on Sirius I am unable to download
TV1000, Cinema and the other coded/ but viewable programmes?
Via is a new one to me but I'm clearing most channels on Hotbird, all I need now is to get those elusive little devils in to my receiver.
Your help appreciated.

A lot depends on where you live and the dish / equipment you've got. Most of the transponders on Sirius are weak in the UK and you should have a 1.2 m dish.I live in west yorkshire and get the channels in good weather on a 80 cm dish.

Thanks for that Pogo.
I am in Wiltshire running Echostar3000 via and a 1 metre dish.
Perhaps I was expecting too much. Guess I will have to wait for
c*na* and go back to West 1.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

If its a good 1m then you should get TV1K during the daytime and early evening

However you have the AD3000 which has not got the best of tuners so you should try on a clear day at midday to find them

You will need a 1.2m to view at almost all times but a 1.5 will ensure all round reception (except when its really raining)

After a little tweaking I am able to get some of Ticket, all of TV1000 and Cinema. None of it is really important....It is just a hobby.....another achievment. It will not mean much to the Profi's but for me it's the cats whiskers.

Allan,
If you have an LNB that's a couple of years old try a new one.
LNBs lose sensitivity over time - they don't like the Sun straight down them twice a year at the equinox!
New ones are also getting more sensitive and cheaper.
I have the same equipment as you and could not get any of the TV1000s or Cinemas when I installed the receiver on the existing 3 year old dish setup. I installed a new Cambridge Platinum 0.6db LNB (replacing the old Cambridge Gold 0.7) and they all "romped" in!
I only have trouble with the weakest transponders just after nightfall.
Location E Midlands.
