I heard James Whale talking about VCRs being a thing of the 1990s. Yet I still use them, very often. I do have a dvd recorder but the the discs aren't very reliable. I know the quality is better but I much prefer video tape.

I was thinking of getting an HD recorder, but I'll make do with video for some time yet.

Yes, I am serious. Aren't I correct in thinking broadcasters still use Quad tape... :D

Regretably not but the arrogant t**t never knew diddly squat about anything anyhow, never like his style on both TV and radio.

I still use VHS for recording the odd programme off TV and as you all know I have my Betamax kit to play with, which works a damned sight better than any of my VHS stuff!!!:p

Actually, I found a couple of Betamax tapes with some Benny Hill on them, and they look like they were only recorded yesterday!!! :D

I taped my first mature content vid onto Betamax tape. :D Except it wasn't mature content as such. I was only about 20 in those days, all the mature content that was available was BBFC cert 18 films, heavily edited, to the point there was no s_x.

Anyway, I got my bruv's VHS recorder, played the film, and recorded onto an old Betamax tape. Dunno what happened to it. I think I lost it. :D

Err, for television I suppose an inbuilt harddisk. :) You can't scratch a harddisk and you also cannot lose the DVDs. ;)
