Thought it'd be interesting to note some of the various music players & formats that were invented but never really took off, after watching a couple of Techmoan videos on a device called a Tefifon, I thought I'd start this thread off with just that, the Tefifon...
The best way to describe it is it is like an 8-track cassette tape but using a plastic tape that is recorded in the same manner as vinyl records, except it's a linear format that runs in a continuous loop from start to finish, and is from the era where the 78rpm shellac record was still king, yet the sound quality from these Tefifon devices far surpassed that of even the highest quality 78...
Shame it never took off, it's quite an ingenious invention that could have really taken the music industry by storm had record companies taken it on as a format...
Anyway, 'nuff waffling, here's the Techmoan vids that explain it better (can't say I like the Pennsylvania-6 5000 cover though!!)...
