Chris,

If you don't mind I think it would be better to have a go at that lot tomorrow morning, or some other time tomorrow, as I am feeling a little "tattered" now and I still have some things to do around the house (feed the cats, get something to eat, "relax"!)
Ok mate, talk tomorrow.

Good morning

OK to start whenever you are.
PS: Have now got the following set up - only slight problem there is that the flags are not showing up in the VRS web view, although the silhouettes are .

It may be a silly question but have you unzipped the files?

If you have it might be worth moving them up a folder or two so they are just inside the add-ns / country flags folder

Yes, all the flag folders contain "unzipped" flag image files which I can see when I look there.

I have a VRS folder which contains a sub folder for the "run" files for the VRS, and another one which contains all the "add ins" folders including one for the "Country Flags", with all the individual flag sub-folders inside that, and the current version of the above screen shot shows the "Flags Folder" field pointing to that Country Flags folder

Another thing: last night I said that the MLat CLient Command Line was showing "connected" but there did not appear to be any data exhanges, but this morning it is showing regular data exchanges.

You have the VRS path pointing directly at the folder with the bitmap icons in it in it?

My operator bmp flags are in the operatorlogos1 folder - it doesnt seem to work if you are a folder too high:

I note that your operator bmp flags are 4th level down from the root on your hard disc, and yet my Country flags are also 4th level down but I don't see them - as here

Hmm. Might be worth unzipping one of the operator logo zips them into a different folder on your hard drive & pointing the folder path at that one to see what happens.

Tried two things
- Moving the Flags folders up another level
- Copying the complete Flags folder to my C:\ drive.

Then also closed and restarted Dump1090, MLat Client and VRS - nothing worked

Now I'm wondering if VRS does not "like" being on anything other than the C:\drive - will take a look at that.

Edited:
Now copied VRS to the C:\ drive, and then moved the Country Flags folder directly up to the root of C:\, then pointed VRS directly to the Small Flags folder in that folder, then - still "nothing"!

So tried completely uninstalling (from the Control Panel) and reinstalling VRS to whatever folder it "wanted to be" - which turned out to be C:\Programme Files (X86) - and then looked at the Options, which, funnily enough, showed the Flags (etc.) folders boxes are still pointing to the same ones as before I uninstalled VRS, which I thought was rather "odd". Of course, still no Flags on the webpage!

Oh well - "never mind"!

No problem at all, and I have other things to do anyway - so get back in touch whenever it is convenient to you :)

@jeallen01 to add location to VRS

tools>options>receiver locations

locations.PNG

click the green +
add.PNG

and then you should see a box like this

info.PNG

enter your location details

then close the menu box and move the drop pin drop pin.PNG to your location

then we need to go back to the VRS menu menu>options>current location

and untick the set current location box so you have the show current location box ticked.

Back to the "Splatter Diagrams " problem - on the previous page of this thread you showed this
upload_2016-12-11_17-26-20.png

However, when I do the same thing, I only get this
Virtual Radar Settings 1 - 2016-12-11.PNG

So the setup procedure must have gone wrong somewhere - will have another go in a few minutes after I've had a cup of tea and so on

BTW: location is correctly set in both the Map menu, and in the local VRS setup

Hit the export settings button, copy to the clipboard, and go to initial settings in the vrs prog.

Chris

That's what I've now done, and it seems to have made some difference to the number of "#xxxx" lines when you go to the Settings.html page - have now completely rebooted that PC to see if that helped, and this is what that page looks like now:
Virtual Radar Settings 2 - 2016-12-11.PNG

Still not seeing Splatter diagrams though
