If you want the distance range plots (I find them fascinating) click on the gear wheel top left then receiver range then tick whichever ones interest you.

Ive reset my plots this evening as Ive set a new windows7 system up so heres the last couple of hours on a quiet Sat evening.

And if you have some coax lying around ( & what self respecting satellite hobbyist doesnt?)

This is what Ive built twice (an 8 segment & a 12) A couple of offcuts of plumbing pipe and you have a perfectly servicable 1090mhz antenna. Just hanging one of these out of the bedroom window and connecting via a mismatched hodge podge of connectors & cables gave me well over 80 miles range.

I have an option for range rings, but nothing for the altitude. Still looking.

I am running win 10 64 bit and Mozilla.

I must be missing something:-(

So far a busy time for this rig is 3 aircraft at once. But it is still early days. I bought a meter or so of coax earlier on, so I can have a go at the co-liner :-)

Cut the coax to 15cm, then trim 2cm off each end leaving just the inner core. Make sure there isnt any wisps of braid using a sharp pair of cutters, & if you have a multi meter measure the resistance after each piece has been added. You should have continuity ( zero ohms or thereaboutcore - core wire on the ODD segments and continuity core - braid on the EVEN segments.

If this doesnt seem logical think about the construction - the connections go core - braid - core - braid alternating like this.

Watch where you poke the cores - its very easy to poke them down the air spaces in air spaced coax instead of down into the outer braid.

And dont forget the insulating tape which stops the braid & core shorting between

The max Ive ever seen is seven!

Chris - for easy screen grabs on win 7 / 8 / 10 try this

Start - run command - then type snipping tool. Dead easy to use - its how I get my screen grabs for the forum here. One of those bits of windows hardly anyone knows is there.

Just tried it

Normally I would have used the print screen button, that saves a screen grab straight to Dropbox. As 99% of the time I am on iPhone, when posting.
