My Satellite Setup
1.2m channel master on a jeager 1224 motor. 55cm fibo Gregorian. VU solo2.
My Location
S.Wales
When I get around to installing my Channel master 1.8m dish, I will be using a C/M feed horn and inverto twin C120 lnb.

There is a little brass in colour, waveguide in with the feed.

Will I need this between the feed and lnb?:confused

Is the waveguide only for C band then?

By the looks of it,

For a linear application it restricts the lnb to be only able to receive horizontal or vertical depending on it's position.

For Circular Polarity it's for Right Hand Circular polarisation (RHCP) or left hand circular polarisation (LHCP) using the slab.

But for what reason would you restrict it? and what does it all mean?

Thanks

As far it concerns the linear polarization there are two types of waveguides.

1. the ones with a rectangular opening. They send either the horizontal or the vertical polarization.
2. the ones with the round opening. Both polarizations can pass through them.

There is a waveguide called OMT, Ortho Mode Transducer. It has a round input and two rectangular outputs, one for horizontal and one for vertical polarization.
