Hi everyone,

Has anyone else ever had this problem? My Sky Digibox failed a few weeks ago, and I bought an old Grundig box from someone who had upgraded to Sky+. Basically, I cannot get the box to send Sky pictures through either of the two RF Out sockets on the back. It will send out terrestrial signals through both RF sockets, but I just cannot get satellite pictures through them. Through the Scarts, everything is A1 perfect. Am I doing something wrong, or is this something that has happened to anyone else?? Please help!

Cheers,
John

You probably need to change the output channel on the digibox.

Press the following buttons on the digibox remote:

services 4 0 1 select 4

to give you the installers menu and you can change the output channel. If you don't know what it was before then it's somewhere between 21 and 69!

Best of luck.

What channel is the RF out set to?

If the original box failed it's probably information lost I reckon. The only other way is to look at the TV and hope that it stores the channel number against the programme number. Unfortunately an awful lot of TVs don't.

Hi guys! Just done as you said and opened up the "Installers Menu" and activated the RF socket, and also changed the signal from 68 to 37, and it's now working! Thanks everyone!!

When you say activated the socket do you mean that you changed the "RF Outlet Power Supply" to on? If so, turn it back off as this is for supplying a 9volt supply from the second RF outlet to a magic eye device.

PaulR

PS, lucky you knew what channel number it was!

The power supply shouldn't make any difference and shouldn't be on if you are not using a magic eye, but some TVs will not pick up channel 68 or 69, so moving it to another will obviously solve the problem. :)

Oh, I thought that the power supply would have to be switched on, and that that was the problem. My TV wouldn't pick up CH68 though, as well.

My Grundig default channel is 68 which clashes with terrestrial
Ch4 so it is worth experimenting for a best picture. I use 50.

The annoying thing is that it sometimes defaults back to 68 so we have
that set on another TV button for a quick change back again!

If you are inserting multiple av receivers into a system, there are various rules you should follow to avoid rf clashes.

Use this web site to calculate safe channel s to use:
