If you are happy with the channels listed for Eutelsat W2 as listed here, then a 70 to 90 cm dish with an offset arm and two LNBs should do the trick and a separate digital receiver.

Thanks Rolfw

So let me get this right (sorry new to this)

1. Ditch the current mini dish
2. Fit a 70 to 90cm dish in its place (offset arm??? )
3. Fit two LNBs
4. Buy another digital receiver for wifes TV
5. Bobs your fathers brother

Is that right? Do you know of any good (cheap) places to get the equipment not really bothered if its second hand

Thanks

Or perhaps keep your current setup and buy the suggested setup and try to set it up before removing your current setup. Ebay is sometimes a good source of cheap parts.

Let me add this bulgarian sat-forum which could also help for specific information concerning the PayTV packages: http://www.dvb-bg.com/

Thanks for that will have to wait for the wife to get back from Bulgaria as my bulgarian is very basic. i have now decided on the following setup........

Technomate 7755 2VA 2CI with All Cam Patch
80cm dish + wall mount
0.3 dB MTI Blue Line LNB
Moteck SG2100A DiseqC 1.2 Motor

The wife who's in Bulgaria at the moment is going to get a Bulsatcom viewing card. I can then half my subs to SKY currently £40 because she will be happy with the Bulgarian subbed movies on HBO and i'll be happy with live prem games on Diema. So saving £20 per month minus the Bulsatcom card price.

If you go the motorised route, you would be advised to keep your Sky dish as well.

This is really strange but I am also interested in doing exactly the same thing. My girlfriend is Bulgarian and I know she'd like to get BG channels in the UK and I too only have a standard Sky setup right now.

Hawkers, keep me posted on how you get along. Out of interest, how much is this all roughly costing, including the Bluesatcom card?

Hi Chris,
The setup i have bought (see post above) cost me £200 but you do not have to get a motorised setup may be a bit cheaper. I am flying to Bulgaria on Thursday so i will get the card then. The wife said who is in Bulgaria at the moment you can get a recevier and card for 200lev (bout £80) but i have no idea what the receiver is like.

I will let you know how much the card cost when i get back in September

I 've got the following question:

The shop above mentioned sells pure ITV Partner smartcards. I know of somebody that wanted to get this package instead of Bulsat since he finds it better but he had to buy the receiver as well and is not satisfied at all. Has this changed lately and can everybody run this official (?) card in a Cryptoworks CAM inside any receiver on the market ?

All down to the dealer and the package thay are authorised to sell

Most broadcasters will have a dealer network, and to this end to get anyone on a dedicated package means supplying the lot from scratch, dish, receiver, subscriber card and installation all in one reduced price. Makes sense as the equipment is guaranteed along with the install, so there are no surprises further down the line.

There will be options though, a separate CAM such as the Dragon will accept a number of different cards, but there is a risk that the customers receiver is not fully compatible, the dish is not fully suitable, or any other number of problems. It may be that the broadcaster is not willing to offer a card based on problems occurring at the other end with non standard equipment

This is from ITV Partner :
Q7: I have a digital satellite receiver and an antenna. Is it possible to purchase only a card and a subscription for the televisions of ITV?
А7: Unfortunately this is not possible. To subscribe to the television packages of ITV it is necessary that you have the satellite receiver PHILIPS DSR 2101 that only is offered at the commercial sites of ITV.

Q9: I already have a satellite antenna and an universal digital converter. May I purchase only an ITV receiver and a card? А9: Yes, you may. You may purchase only the receiver, together with a smart card, and point your antenna at 16° East in order to view the programmes of ITV.

For possible changes ask http://www.itvpartner.com

Hm, they are acting like the romanian DigiTV package. There also the receiver is crap. What a pity that many providers are acting like they were alone on the market. The worst case scenario has become reality. Imagine each software application needing its own PC !!

Anyway, the barriers in this world have become more than less. There we only cannot decide if we need it or not.

Mr. Popov and Channel Hopper thanks very much for your replies :)
