I know we all love tinkering with our countless dishes, to get channels we cannot understand but...what do you actually watch? I mean, sit down with a cup of tea in the evening type TV.

Well, I have a standard Sky HD sub downstairs without movies and sports and usually watch TV series on Sky One/Atlantic or the "free" public channels - BBC, ITV, Dave and E4 being common nominees.

Upstairs in my "boys' toys" room, I have a Viasat Baltic sub on which I watch some Russian series, stand up comedy and an occasional movie on TV1000. During the weekday, I usually have Bulgarian music channel Planeta TV on in the background - mainly for the drop-dead gorgeous singers and music that's bearable!

Almost exclusively, our viewing is BBC orientated: We find that amongst the (apparently necessary) dross, there is a huge amount of serious Programming across the genres of Documentary, News/Current Affairs, Natural History (Please grant Eternal Life to Attenborough),Drama, Comedy and Nostalgia (BBC4 is clearly designed to suit our interest to a T).

Then there's BBC Radio (Chiefly 2 and 4).

And finally, SWMBO watches a fair amount of Rai, especially stuff like Linea Verde (Countryfile for Adults).

I mostly watch my UK subscription TV, no movies or sport, although I do get free BT sport, then watch the odd Grand Prix on RTL via my Dreambox DM7000 and the occasional FTA football match.

I actually watch very little UK tv. Top Of The Pops 1978 & the F1 is about all Im interested in.

We have a Sky 6 mix sub but thats mainly to keep the OH quiet.

Id rather listen to my cd's and search for new channels & news feeds on my foreign tv kit.

Wireless headphones mean I can listen to my music without annoying the OH too much :D

BBC with their splendid programming especially the documentaries on BBC2/4.
Will be a sad loss if and when astra 2E ever gets into orbit with the same uk footprint as astra 2F.
But all is not lost due to internet iplayer streaming from various free sources.
Regards from central southern norway

Not a sniff from astra 2F

Wife is a channel hopper and watches 5 or 7 programs at once, without me I might add, I find it difficult enough to absorb some of the carp produced these days without missing 70% of the program to watch something else. I watch upstairs on the PC which has a USB tuner and soon to have this new fangled now TV thingy for a tenner, but have to say I do not have much time to watch a great deal of TV

Similar to Tivu, I'm mostly BBC. I avoid the soaps and reality carp like the plague but there's still more than I can find time to watch left on the BBC1 - BBC4 channels.

There are a few programmes on ITV, C4 and C5 that we watch but I try to make sure that they'r recorded so we can zip through the adverts. My wife also likes to watch some of the repeats on ITV3 - I also like to watch Heartbeat there to fill in the gaps where I've missed an episode when originally transmitted. Again recorded to reduce advets annoyance.

Radio is mostly R4 with Radio Caroline.

Like the majority of others, it's mainly BBC 2 or 4 of an evening. I sometimes watch the English language content on other channels, MBC on 7W and odd times TF1 when they do the same. (my level of French, even after 12 years, has never got to the point where I can comprehend a programme completely in French) You can come across odd programming with English audio on Prima (45E) and two or three channels on Turksat. During the day I'll leave the receiver on a music channel, Deluxe Music on 19E or RTL on 13E.

I record a lot of films, various Sci-fi series and mystery dramas on my freesat set up & periodically, when I get a chance, I have a lazy weekend & watch several films or whole seasons at a time. I hate having to wait a week to find out what happens next.

On my motorised set up I am able to watch pretty much any football I want, plus any other sport I want to. Also there are loads of films, drama series, documentaries etc, all available with an English language option to watch. To be honest, I don't have enough spare time to watch what's available, but there's plenty of choice to suit our family.

I forgot the one channel I do watch regularly.

NHK World. I started watching them during the tsunami disaster of 2011, and after they went back to normal programming found they have a great assortment of interesting documentaries on.

They are the only news channel I can watch for more than about 20 minutes - I find all the UK news channels infuriating or patronising, or just basically sh1te as they say in the local vernacular ;)

although i have a full uk sub i tend to watch the offerings on 4.8east like nrk/svt/dr/tv2den or the mbc channels on badr4. like most of us i spend most of my spare time faffing about trying to find new channels/feeds or tinkering with the set-up.
when i do watch sly,s offerings it tends to be a movie as the general channels drive me mad with all the advert breaks and repeats. news channels i watch are al-jazeera,press tv and deutsche welle or bbc news for the uk stuff
