Have just bought a used Uniden 90cm motorised system from e-bay for a tenner.
It comes with 90cm dish, actuator, analogue LNB, two different mounts, controller box, analogue receiver, D2Mac decoder, cable and fittings etc, etc.

Now I have the digital receiver, but what would be the best digital LNB for it.
Picture of dish below.

Alright lets make this simple, would I be able to fit a Invacom 0.3db LNB to this type of dish, for receiving digital transmissions.

You will need to check the feedhorn type, it will possibly be a C120 type, if it is, then just get a C120 type LNB. :)

Bit new to this type of dish and fittings so I assume that this is a C120 type fitting, picture below.

Well so far ok, but I have hit one problem in that the positioner (or satellite selector) does not have a remote control and it seems it never did, well according to the seller anyway.

It is a Uniden Direct Broadcasting Satellite Selector UST-771
Serial no. 95010508, and made in the Philippines

Need either a remote for it, or another positioner.
Can't imagine the wife getting up to change the satellites manually, just don't make Russians like they used too.:-rofl2

Can you take a picture of the motor? I seem to recall that CH is well versed on this motor, it may not be 36v.

Hi Rolf, Have sent picture of actuator, and the connections on the back of the satellite selector are for a 36 volt motor.

OK, if it is 36v, then a V-box will work, it will interface between the receiver's DiseqC commands and the 36v motor, so you won't need a remote. :)

No problems but just getting prepared for the big day (Saturday week), so have been looking around for an lnb and rather fancy the "C120 Invacom 0.3db universal lnb for about £38", or has anyone tried the "Inverto C120 0.4db digital universal lnb which costs £15".

Also can anyone tell me if I need a "Feedhorn" (£15) for this type of set-up, picture below.

Thanks
Rob

Nice one gents :D

I think the upshot being - the original feed for the dish is probably a very good match and waiting for a good low noise C120 universal.

its a original Precision feed so don't throw that away, it cost alot of money.

There is a heater option for that feed also if you want.

There are a lot of these type of dishes floating around, having fallen into redundancy on Petrol stations and the like and they are just waiting to be claimed.
