anyone got a decent run down between the differences of the various PCI cards available?
tons of people seem to be digging the skystar 2, but the lack of CI is a bit off putting... we likely to see a new model like the ss1+ci ? or does it run software emulation (which still doesn't help if you want to use a legit/uncrackable card) now?
the other cards i was looking at are the TwinHan, because this does include a CI module as part of the PCI card (i'd rather a single card due to the fact when i upgrade to my new box, it'll be PCI-E and only have 2xPCI cards.. one for satellite and one for soundcard) but is the card as good? is the chipset complient with various other software viewers?
my main concerns are getting a card that doesn't cost too much money, will accept HD signals without a problem, and let me cap the .TS to the hdd without worries. i want to run it side by side with normal STBs and possibly a dreambox in the future. i'm not buying straight away, as i don't want to start putting dishes on a house i'm not staying at for more than a few months, so just doing my research.
i like to look around the skies and find whats out there, and get the best possible range of satellites and frequencies as i can, without spending stupid money. probably going to get a force frontier 90cm dish for East and then get a second (probably larger, if i have the space) dish for West afterwards (maybe run a smaller one as a temporary just to get Telstar12 or maybe 1W until i have the money)
