What receivers are available which will decode BISS encrypted transmissions (assume that I have the necessary codes)?

Most new receivers will, and even quite a few older ones.
Can you please be more specific, how much do you want to spend, what else do you want it to be capable of.

All Linux based receivers should be capable of opening BISS encrypted channels, if the keys are known, the advantage of the AZ Box is that it can open 4:2:2 feeds.

Skybox F3 can cope with BISS by loading up a suitable constant.cw file.

No 4:2:2, though.

Pretty sure most (if not all) Technomate boxes will do BISS if using the right patches.

my old Technomate TMS1500 CI+ used to open them. You can get them for about £30 on ebay.

Unless he's interested in the PLTV HD channel, 10E, in which case a HD receiver is required.

If Astra 2f replacing 1N causes the loss of BBC & ITV in parts of Europe, interest in Biss will increase.
I've read there are some enthusiasts getting the main BBC channels & ITV1 HD from Intelsat 907. Needs the right tuner SR:44100

The BBC channels on that bird wont last long once the traders start hammering it properly if 2F causes problems for the expats

All they`d have to do is keep rolling the codes so to speak (key change every few seconds) or if it`s that much of a concern to them PowerVu it up (that may be a bit costly though)

Prior to this summer 27.5W was only intermittently available - there are various reports right here on the forum.

If you expect it to be wide open and to stay open then I reckon you will be sadly disappointed.

Thanks for confirming that. It's the impression I got after reading up on it. If Andalucia loses out on most of the BBC & ITV services, I'll be tempted to set this up at home as an untrustworthy temporary source. It's a shame that a sky sub will only provide ITV2,3 and 4.

Specifically I'd like:

- 4:2:2 DVB-S / S2 (qpsk / 8psk)
- Diseqc control
- HD (upto at least 1080i)
- Able to decode signals encrypted using BISS-E

AZBox seems to be hard to get hold of, but I presume there's something newer and just as capable on the market?
