What size (smallest) can I get away with for 4.8 east in Liverpool area?

Also if I choose to get a monoblock 13/16 again what size dish would I need? If I need a 80 then I may aswell just pop a motor on it.

thanks

Depends: Do you want all Beams, or just the stronger ones?

Is there something specific that you do want?

Footprints by Beam and Dish size are here:

If its just the European beam you want then an 80cm should do fine and give you plenty of rain fade margin.

The Nordic beam will require something nearer 1.2m

The sports channels are on the Nordic beam :-rofl2

You need to take local advice though about what sort of dish size is needed - Im guessing from my experiences here in the Borders. (Nordic beam very poor on a 85cm Fraccaro Penta)

A good local dish installer (NOT a sky ladder monkey) or one of our members who lives in the area.

Hope your friend has deep pockets - Viasat is horribly expensive if you have to use UK resellers!

getting nordic beam stuff on 90cm channel master dish with inverto black ultra but a 1.2m would make the difference on signal. speak to sat superstore they up in newcastle they will know on dish sizes but they are pricey.

I live in Manchester and get 4.8E with an 80cm dish with a strong 70%+ signal :)

a lot of people are after viasat to get the football and just looking at the footprint map for the nordic beam seems overly short as it drops off before the uk but people can receive it and in my location going by the footprint map I would need 1.5m at least but working fine with cm 90cm and 1.2m is better for rain margin.
