What V-Box?

I would be very interested, but wouldn`t it be easier as you have said, just to mod the vbox?

It would be easier on a one off basis, but there are a variety of different 'V-Box's and receivers out there, some are a bit nervous about modding them, there would be guarantee issues and you would have to mod any replacement box. I am always swapping boxes and dishes about ,just for fun. And then you have to run an extra wire.

I have just bought some nice shotgun RG6 + 4wire motor, but it is only 4 wire and I would have to run an extra wire myself if I modded the box, this is one of the reasons I thought about revisiting the reed switch idea. I will look into it a little, I have some ideas about an easy way, if I can get the right bits and pieces.

Used to be able to get shotgunned cable with 5core, but havn't seen any for a while.

That is what im using shotgun 5 core, but split the old coax as it was no good. Think I will have a go at modding my vbox

Had a little play with a reed switch on the Fibo motor, it was easier than I thought, don't know why I didn't do it before. !

Set it up to double count, more of a test, gives approx 30 counts/deg.

Will tidy it up a bit and do some pics. 2

Been too busy to get round to taking photos, so obviously no takers. Listed it on 10p day, so no biggie! I'm happy enough to keep it for now as a spare.

When the weather gets better I intend to put it up in place of my 55cm dish and do a comparison with my other 90cm dish (I was also going to compare it with that 95cm Kathrein, but that arrived dented so I refused to accept it).
