Hello everyone!

I have an issue (well, kind of...) with my Dreambox DM500 HD receiver. I need to enter a sub-menu entitled "Satellite Configuration" (or similar). It is supposedly reached by pressing Menu button and choosing "Service Searching". It's supposed to be right there! Right after entering Service Searching menu. But not in my case. This is all I get:

Tuncer configuration
Default service lists
Automatic scan
Manual scan
Satfinder
Positioner setup

I seem to remember seeing that "Satellite Configuration" menu the first time I powered on my DM500 HD when it was new. And I haven't seen it since. So it seems to be that sort of thing - a setting which you just "set and forget". I have tried doing a factory reset on the DM500 HD to see if this menu will reappear, but without any luck. Also, it seems as if setting the DM500 HD to factory default does not restore everything. Would I need to do some kind of "HARD" reset on it to restore everything?

I need to get to this menu because I need to change some settings, since I have upgraded my satellite system.

I would appreciate any help with this.

What Sonic said looks good to me, but can you say what exactly you are trying to re-configure.

considering the missing satelite configuration missing. i was having the same problem with dm500s.
i flash and reflash several times, i change the tuner, q72 u70 ic.
few thinks to messure is. you have to have 5volts to pin9 counting from the left, or on l703 and l704
and on pin 2 are the 18volts for the lnb.
i have to say that this method didnt solve my problem. all the voltages are correct, exept the 18v for the lnb.
but as i notice to get those, you need a command from the micro. other wise you dont have them.
all my efords to fix this problem when down, so i was starting to think that something gos wong on the boot site of the reciever. i was going to use the jtag method, wishing to solve the problem if it was a booting problem.
really i dont know how my problem solve, but i believe that the pli-jade image has done a good jop.
as o mensoned before i flash and reflash the box using gemini image. in the end i use the pli-jade.
after i few restarts,(in main time i was mesuring the deferent voltages. box work perfect.
so my result is. 1. if is a softwear error pli-jade fix it after few restarts, or the pins on tuner on top site, the need to get push down, perhas a dry join. have to mension that my tuner is not a plug in, is solder...
this is how i fix the missing menu.

If you still have problems it's unlikely to be the image causing the missing voltage(s). Just make sure your tuner is well soldered into place.

my tuner is a soldering one, is not a plug in. i replace the tuner 2 times, and in the end i link the tuner with wires, so
i strongly belive is not a soldering mater on the board. i have solder the tuner it self also, but perhaps on top site on the tuner, you can not solder becouse is the plastic that cover the pins.
i assume if is a dry join will be in top site of the tuner, but from the other end, during the soldering on bottom site, imidiatly you have a soldering on top site also, becouse is double bcb.

i also dont belive that is a soldering mater on the board. if is a dry join it will be internaly on the tuner, but us a mentioned i replace the tuner. i believe it has to do something with the driver of the tuner, or the image.
what i can say?. am not 100% how did it work. at the moment is working perfect. i will let you know if is still ok in couple days. i have to say also that the pli-jade image is more good from the gemini.
this is my experiance on this problem.
