I need a 180 cms dish in Uk (near london if i can) ... I see all the sites are too expensive.. £200 for a 6 feet dish crap...
The price is too much compared to the manufacturing cost.
Can some one advice me where to get... If it doesnt work i have to go for 120 cms...

If you want a decent dish here in Europe you have to be prepared to pay for it.

Remember this is low volume stuff so the companies dont get economies of scale from selling millions every year. In Europe the market for these big dihes will be a few thousand a year.

Dont be tempted to buy low quality cheap ones - they will distort and bend in the first good gale!

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Especially the ones Maplin are selling (FortecStar I think?), from memory, someone on here had one of their 1.8Ms (Or was it 2.4M?) and a gale blew through and folded the dish in half...

Remember, you pay more for the cheap stuff than you do for the quality stuff, in terms of subsequent replacements after failures... :)

Look in classifieds for used ones, I think it is possible to find 1,8m within 50$ (at least I managed to do so). And secondhand does not really mean cheap stuff.
Edit: For example, I have found this 190cm offset dish for sell some time ago for price about 100$, ad bargain still possible. Do not know why I did not buy it.

yes -- look for a quality second hand dish -- and you won,t regret it --
my motorised 1.8 channel master is 20 years old now -- i,v owned it for 12 of those years --
its a heavy duty fibreglass dish --- there is no reason why it shouldn,t easily last for another 20 .

regards --- :)

I have a 22 year old Channel Master dish which is in as good condition today as it was in the 90s. Sure, mine might only be 35cm big and have the letters BSB stamped across the front but it's still working today. ;)

Go 2nd hand. A 1.2m Channel Master dish can be had under £50 if you are patient with eBay - mine was only £35 with the polar mount. A 1.8m Channel Master will cost a bit more - even 2nd hand. One went for £300 recently on eBay but they are quality dishes that will outlast anything out there.
