Hi,

New to the forum and not sure if this is the right section. Please boot me out if it isn't...

I have a receiver that I want to connect to an LCD monitor.

The back of the receiver has the outlets in the attached Receiver pic. The monitor has the inputs shown in the attached Monitor pic.

Is there any cable that will allow me to connect the two so I can use the monitor as a TV screen?

Thanks for any light you can throw on the subject.

What receiver, make/model, and monitor do you have?
If both have a HDMI port, like in the picture, then a HDMI lead will do, but most PC monitors do not have HDMI imputs, so you might have to connect it via your PC.

Most monitors will have a DVI connection, which is the same as HDMI but without the audio. There are DVI <> HDMI adapters available on your favourite auction site for very cheap.

If it's a standard receiver without an HDMI connection, then you can get a "syncblaster" type cable to connect SCART/RGB to VGA/D-Sub connection.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

From worst to best, if it has VGA, go for the D-Sub, if it has DVI, go for the DVI, and it it has HDMI, go for the HDMI... :)

Thanks for your input.

Sorry, the second pic didn't upload by the looks of it, so attached now.

From what Captain Jack says, looks like the only option will be a SCART / RCA (out) - D-Sub (in) cable.
