@moonbase, I have no interest in debuging someone else's image. I already have enough to do on my own stuff.

As I said previously, Edision works fine on T2MI, but not multi-plp. That is nothing to do with the image or the blindscan plugin so please don't aim your disappointment at me.

I suspect most T2-MI streams are multi PLP, seems like a very odd/silly omission from Edision. Like with most E2 receivers - half arsed "oh that'll do" finish without a care in the world.

I can't see how you can blame Edision. The tuner is AVLink. So if there is anyone to blame for this hardware oversight wouldn't it be the tuner manufacturer?

And anyway could still be handled by CPU if it has the software and processing power.

Also Edision is one of the manufacturers that do care a lot, and listen to and work with the images developers.

I don't care who the blame lies on. If it's advertised with a particular feature the it should come with one. It's a bit like advertising that your car has "modern braking system" but actually doesn't have ABS enabled.

It's a sad state of affairs across the whole satellite receiver manufacturer industry.

Please do not quote me indicating that I asked you to debug someone else's image when I clearly did not. I am grateful for the work you do with support for these receivers and for providing the satellites.xml sites.

I stand by my comment that the T2-M1 is not working in the tests I have carried out with the Edision Nino Pro in C band. It failed to provide a picture with both OpenATV and OpenVIX images in my tests on 40.5W in C band where there are quite a few T2-M1 transponders.

If anyone wishes to let me know of a T2-M1 transponder in Ku Band or C Band that the Nino Pro is working correctly with and is within the scope of my equipment and satellite line of sight I will gladly test the Nino Pro on it.

I didn't quote you; you quoted me, and then said "running an OpenATV image and it does not detect any of the T2-M1 channels correctly". Which is why I responded that I didn't have any interest debugging someone else's image. OpenViX doesn't have the same problem. It requires a reboot before displaying the channel, same as SatDreamGR, which implies something to do with T2MI is leaving the tuner blocked.

T2MI and T2MI multi are 2 different things. When you say ABS, does that mean the car has ABS on the front wheels or all four? Or either?

OK tested the VIX and SGR6 image in the Nino on 40W 4000 LHC T2MI 103.
I think you can see the result. The SGR downloads and displays a pictue which is a bit pixellated but VIX does not.
I scanned these from the predefined transponders in the signal finder of both images..SGR1.jpgSGR2.jpgSGR3.jpgVIX1.jpgVIX2.jpgVIX3.jpg

@scopus

What is the SGR6 image, is it the SatDream image? I have tried both OpenATV and Open VIX with the Nino Pro and so far have not been able to clear a T2-M1 picture from 40.5W. If you are having better luck with the SGR6 image I will try that one. I notice there is an SGR6 image dated 6th December 2018, was that the one you used?

It takes about 8db of SNR to open a channel on a DVB-S2 8PSK 3/4 FEC transponder. Most fta receivers need more than the minimum to provide a decent picture. 8.4 db in SNR cannot be expected to give a good, clear picture.

I did a similar test today using an OpenPLi image with the Nino Pro for two transponders on 40.5W that are T2-M1. The Nino Pro failed to provide a picture for T2-M1 on both transponders of 3887L and 4000L. Based on the test from "scopus" yesterday and my test today it seems the only image to provide a T2-M1 picture from 40.5W in C band is the SatDream image. The OpenPLi and OpenVIX images do not provide a picture.

I had plenty signal for a lock, pictures attached below.

Update:

I installed the SatDream image on the Nino Pro and repeated the T2-M1 test for the same two transponders of 3887L and 4000L on 40.5W in C band. This time I got the pixelated image result reported by "scopus" in his earlier post.

My findings with the Nino Pro for T2-M1 tests in C band from 40.5W are that it does not yield a picture with any image other than SatDream and even that is pixelated. There are no T2-M1 pictures with OpenATV, OpenPLi and OpenVIX images. I have not done any tests yet in Ku band so I cannot comment on the functionality of the Nino Pro with T2-M1 in Ku band.

The pixelation for the two channels was not due to signal level, for both channels I had a stable lock and was comfortably above the threshold required for a lock as can be seen from the SNR dB levels in the pictures below.

A few test pictures are attached below.

Hello moonbase.
If you had read all about it you could have seen that
what you say about T2MI images in C-band is not new, I had already written here:
New Edision OS nino Pro Grey 1x DVB-S2X + 1x DVB-C/T2 Linux Enigma 2 Combo Tuner Digital Multi-Stream Receiver H.265 HEVC HD 1080p - SatsUK
and as with satdreamGR a poor quality image also appears, so I do not see any difference between OPenvix and the others.
and at post 225 you can see that the T2MI works perfectly in KU band

Yes, we agree then, the Edision Nino Pro does not work correctly with T2-M1 signals in C band at the moment. Let us hope that the problem can be identified and resolved

I'll test this SatDream with my Zero 4k... Actually, I'm using astra-sm to see 40ºW channels and work very very fine (with bouquets)
