Which is your preferred Viewer for PC satellite TV

I primarily use ProgDVB for watching standard broadcasts from various sats

I've also voted for DVBViewer because it lets me watch HD broadcasts as well and SD ones. ProgDVB seems not to be able to handle all the HD data or it introducing some interference because the HD picture breaks up - very annoying

I'm using a Skystar 2 PCI card

I now only use progDVB and s2emu,its the winner of them all,including the commercial pay programs. I have exaustively tested all of them and thats what my conclusions are based on.

I find progdvb the best for most things. For HDTV I use HDTV demo which is the only smooth running program that works with the Skystar 1. Ritz DVD is unstable in its current version after channel scans and refuses to launch without a reinstall. It does work on HDTV. DVBDream has great potential for general use.

Just for interest's sake I have a different way to watch satellite TV on my PC. My Goldmaster receiver has a @SKY module lurking inside and some software to run on the PC. I connect them together with a USB cable and I can watch TV, record to HD, and make fancy channel and favourites menus on the PC.

Is there a driver for Prog DVB that will support a TechniSat SkyStar-USB box? If so can some one point me in the right direction on where I can find it? I have DVB Viewer but I understand that Prog DVB is better..

Multidec 9.0 its OK, with S2emu1.19 on w98.
Its run stable on a P200 and its easy to configure.

well i tride just about all of thr programs .and i still gome back to progdvb.always find nice and easy to set up and gives good pic q ..so progdvb gets my vote

are these softwares generic over USB/PCI interfaces

Just wanted to vote again but I can`T? Anyway I have 3 cards. The PCTV Sat Ci works best with ProgDVB, PCTV 400i works great with DvbDream, and at the moment I`m trying to get the PCTV Dual Sat Pro to run with ProgDVB,without much success!

You are talking about which stuffs , Hardwares or Softwares, for extra attachment, You have many kind of softwares which support to run your card, and even hardwares which are even helpful.

I have gone for the newest version of Altdvb. A big improvement over progdvb it runs faster and uses less processing power.

Yes you are right , The core is the diffrence, But MT AND DD are the professionals.
