my friend wants to set up a system, i have a humax 5400 (patched) with disecq motor, what is the cheapest route and current best reciever to recieve multi sat's (cams etc?) is it still the humax 5400?

My Satellite Setup
Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

The Humax is still certainly a very good receiver, but it is no longer the only game in town. The Technomate is a cracking receiver, as are some of the Force units, Echostar receivers with the Echonav software can be patched to make a Eurocam perform as a Freecam and there are a host of budget UCAS receivers around at very reasonable prices, which effectively have a built in Magic Module.
