My Location
Wirral, NW UK and Vaucluse, France.
I'm sure there are other places too.
I've never been there at the right time but I'm told that they grow wild up on Moel Famau in North Wales. Have to be careful not to mistake them with sheep droppings though!

They grow all around my house ( central southern norway ) can pick all I want too make wine with them, bit hard to get the wine started due to antibacterial properties of this berry, but makes a fine full bodied red wine.

Maybe I'll taste these beautiful fruits again before I pop me cloggs..
lol

Well I went over there and unfortunately most of the banking has been swallowed up by a newish housing estate but I did find a few woody stragglers being strangled to death by the nettles and brambles. They are currently in water, I assume they will grow roots if left like that or do they need to be dipped in rooting compound and planted?

Absolutely no idea if they will root buddy ..
Doubtful but not impossible from a woody stem ..but if the pieces you have are green ..and have a growth point ..then we might have a chance..
If you get em going let me know ..
I bought some seeds ..but not one germinated ..so am still on the hunt .

Try "" willow water "" well known homemade rooting compound.

Good luck

Sorry to say all the cuttings I tried to root have died, sorry VS
I obviously have not got the knack with whimberries, despite my otherwise green fingers

I had wondered why I hadn't heard from you Topper ..
Now I know ..
Perhaps you could pick some ripe fruit and dry out the seeds ..
I'd be happy to try that ..and maybe get at least one going..

Maybe you could also do this with your blueberries Sko ??

Happy to let you both eat the fruit first ..
Just dont swallow the seeds ..
I'd hate to think they had been through your colons first ...
lol
cheers
Evan

I always thought that is how the seeds were dispersed naturally, indeed tomato plants are always growing near sewerage works, I will try again of course
