Following on from the interest generated in last years five page topic titled "Who Are The Big Dish Men & Ultimate Dish Men", here we have a topic on a smilar vein, "Who Are The Big Arc Men & Ultimate Arc Men"

I have attached a picture of a template below that contains several columns for arc range.
The primary motorised arc columns are for the arc range from a motorised dish at its regularly used location. The secondary arc columns are for any increased scope to the arc range provided by a dish on a mobile platform or a second motorised dish.

For example, primary motorised arc from dish at its regularly used main location is 45.0 East to 45.0 West, ie, a 90.0 degree arc. The secondary dish has an arc range of 68.5 East to 5.0 West, ie, a 73.5 degree arc. The entire are range is 68.5 East to 45.0 West, ie a 113.5 degree arc. I have temporarily populated the bottom line of the template with my paltry contribution to illustrate the logic. I am a micro arc man and will remove my entry later.

There is also an "Arc Man Classification" table included in the template, the classifications will be based on the primary arc and not the entire arc. Signal captures from both satellite TV and Radio can be used as an indication of a satellite lock for arc range.

If members wish to be included in the table please provide your feedback and I will keep the table updated.
Will we see an "Ultimate Arc Man".... ?

My 1.8m CM goes from 57E (just) to 58W, so 115 degrees. The east is partially obstructed from around 52 onwards.

My potential arc is from 95 East to 45 West, but due to construction limitations I now have 95E to 40.5W!

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
My big dish (3 meters) covers from 55W to 177W, for an arc of 122 degrees, this with usable signals, "C" and "Ku" band.

My secondary dish (1 meter) covers the same arc, but with 87W to 127W for usable signals on "Ku" band only.

I could go further East but the Sierra Nevada Mountains are in the way, Mostly Mammoth Mountain.

@Feedsat_DXer
Is that arc from a single dish or is it a combined arc taken from the scope of several dishes?

No probleme for 3x 1.8m but due to the signal strengh I use the 2.40m for 65W

for an everyday use as DXer, it's true, the CM240 cm is Cband dedicated from 22W to 65W the Laminas is the only one I use from 63W to 76.5E (SMR1224) , etc...

It's combined of several dishes because of the signal strenght of 65W, otherwise, technically, no problem (and even more to the west)

Some SAT-related hardware.

My 1.2m Fibo dish can get signals from 93.5*E-30*W. Actually it could do larger arc but there are obstacles on the both ends. Potentially 96.5*E-45*W could be possible.
