Over-rated indeed.

We've given up on it completely as it has become far too smug and self-satisfied in recent years.

Are we talking about Doctor Who, or the BBC:)

Jumped the shark ?

The assistants as of late have lost that certain charm, the Whoniverse is almost politically correct.

I'd like to see a dalek as the central character (early model, not one of those full fat monstrosities), exterminating things left, right and centre to restore the balance.

If you mean the fat-arse "new paradigm" Daleks then Steven Moffat banished those almost as soon as he came in as show runner. As a long-time fan (yes, still) I've really had my fan-boy spots tickled by the appearance of pre-revival Daleks going right back to the ones that appeared in 1963.

My best guess for the Doctor? Kris Marshal - he of My Family, the BT Adverts and Death in Paradise. We'll soon see how wrong I am.

Marshal (unless really out of character) would be a rehash of at least two earlier incarnations.

I'll have to get the Peter Cushing films out again soon, The box set was region 1 so I'm not sure if the BluRay player will cope with them. I might need to dust off the Yelo player.

She shot to fame for her portrayal of Xena Warrior princess, but was also very gorgeous (and nude) in the tv version of Spartacus and played the character of Number 3 cylon in the Battlestar Galactica remake

A very hot and beautiful woman who can also act
