[SIZE=17pt]Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up on that morning.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=17pt]I went downstairs for breakfast[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]hoping my husband would be pleasant and say,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]'Happy Birthday!',[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and possibly have a small present for me.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]As it turned out,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]he barely said good morning,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]let alone ' Happy Birthday.'[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I thought...... well, that's marriage for you,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]but the kids.... they will remember[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt].[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]My kids came bounding down stairs to breakfasts[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and didn't say a word.[/SIZE][SIZE=17pt].[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]So when I left for the office,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I felt pretty low and somewhat despondent.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]As I walked into my office,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]my handsome Boss Rick, said,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]'Good Morning, lady,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and by the way[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]Happy Birthday! '[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]It felt a little better[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]that at least someone had remembered.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I worked until one o'clock ,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]when Rick knocked on my door[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and said, 'You know,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]it's such a beautiful day outside,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and it is your birthday,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]what do you say we go out to lunch,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]just you and me....'[/SIZE]


[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I said, 'Thanks, Rick,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]that's the greatest thing[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I've heard all day. Let's go!'[/SIZE]


[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]We went to lunch.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]But we didn't go where we normally would go.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]He chose instead a quiet bistro[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]with a private table.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]We had two martinis each[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]On the way back to the office,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]Rick said, 'You know,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]it's such a beautiful day..[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]we don't need to go straight back to the office,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]do we?'[/SIZE]


[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I responded, 'I guess not.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]What do you have in mind?'[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]He said, 'Let's drop by my place,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]it's just around the corner.'[/SIZE]



[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]After arriving at his house,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]Rick turned to me and said,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]If you don't mind,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I'm going to step into the bedroom[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]for just a moment.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]I'll be right back.'[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]'Ok.' I nervously replied.[/SIZE]


[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]He went into the bedroom and,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]after a couple of minutes,[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]he came out[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]carrying a huge birthday cake ....[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]followed by my husband[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]my kids, and dozens of my friends[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt]and co-workers, all singing 'Happy Birthday'.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]



[SIZE=17pt]And I just sat there....[/SIZE]



[SIZE=17pt] [/SIZE]






[SIZE=17pt]On the couch......Naked.[/SIZE]
