Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
.. sky opposition of the larger dishes, some of which being white and emblazoned with the Amstrad-Fidelity name, given ol' Alan Sugar's products were even then known to be cheap and nasty... :)
Come on!:D - many of Mr S's Amstrad ("AMS Trading" to the "uninitiated"! :D) weren't that bad - a couple of dirt cheap (I bought a "non-working" one for a tenner - and then fixed it!)) "5000" Rx did "great service" here in the '80s :D, and a mesh 80/90cm mesh dish worked well for 30W for a long time until I got something "better" (??) - and all the "nice" stuff there went encrypted in the early 2000's :(

PS: my first PC was a Viglen in 1989 - and Viglen was much later bought by Amstrad, so I might have a "vested interest":D

Aye, Amstrad had the best "button per pound" ratio back in the day.

Not half !

I found an Amstrad 7000 casette deck that had been thrown over a fence into British rail property and had been rained on for a while.

After changing the belt inside it ran well for some four years.

His/their satellite equipment was less of a fire hazard than some other Astra designed equipment I had the dubious pleasure of working on as well.
