Hi there,

Does anyone know will an Irish registered sky unit pick up RTE 100miles north of Milan?

Cheers

RTE etc is on Astra 2D Horizontal so if people in your area can get Hallmark, ITV Wales, London, BBC2, CBBC you should be OK

Yes Milan is no Problem . 1 - 1.2 meter dish will do .If you go south you will run into problems . In fact I watched the last years grand prix in Rimini in the Irish pub on RTE . Crap commentator commentator too!

If it can be picked up in Milan it must be on digital then, but someone else said its only receivable on analogue in Ireland. I am totally confused now.

I live in UK, have a Sky box and there is something on RTE on Boxing that I want desperately )(-red to watch and am trying to pick it up even if it was only for that day. Does anyone know how to get it in UK?

thanks

You need a sky card registered to an irish address to open them up. A Repbulic of Ireland card will open all the irish channels. A Northern Ireland card wont open TV3 or 6

Look at the datestamps on the earlier posts ;)

RTE is carried on digital satellite just as the BBC & ITV channels are.

You cant watch the channels unless your card is registered to an Irish address, although there are web streams for both RTE 1 & 2 which might work for you.
