Info

My daily workhorse - has been upgraded with assorted bits n pieces over time. This has had win7 on it since I first built it a couple of years back

Computer specs
No brand desktop built up from a selection of mainly second hand bits a couple of years ago
16GB ram
128GB ssd & 250GB ssd
Intel i3 processor on a Asus P8H61-I LX mobo

Total cost

Unknown - its been added to more or less constantly since I built it! The biggest expense was the 2x8GB ram. The mobo is a second hand Asus picked up for pennies a few years ago.

Verdict

I wasnt expecting any problems from this one and of course it all went fairly smoothly. This computer is well within the minimum specs for win10. I need to see if I can get drivers for some of the older peripherals - the usb camera & serial card arent being recognised atm.

And now I need to spend a couple of weeks tweaking & reinstalling all those little customisations every computer gets when its been used for a while.....

That m/c spec is far too "high" to be in the "how low can you go" category!:-rofl2

"Some day", "someone" will maybe report that they managed to get W10 working on a late 1990's single core Celeron laptop with 2 (maybe even 1?) GB - but I'm not holding my breath on that.
