I think many of the issues arise if your upgrades are incremental .... that's why I've refreshed mine with a clean install and it seems very fast and very stable.

I have been trying to install a fresh copy of Windows 10.

Every program I try and install it fails, with a signature problem or it will come up with a firewall issue.

I really need to get this PC working asap.

Classic shell need a fix to be able to install it.

Any ideas or help please.

Seems Logitech media server only has an sha1 certificate apparently Microsoft removed sha1 in 2016

So I think I need a work around so I can install lms.

Classic shell has been abandoned by its developer as its too much trouble to keep updating. Win10 is the biggest POS Ive ever had the misfortune to use - Ive given up on it at home & reverted the machines to Win7

hmm, did a fresh 1803, currently on 17134.1 a short time ago, all the usual basic programs installed fine here so far (classic shell, free commander, firefox, ccleaner, o&o shutup10 etc).

You got a newer build ? among the 1000's experiments they call an OS, for the latest pile of shit see Microsoft releases 27 Windows patches for Patch Tuesday bugs

Just now this f***ing socalled os tries to update itself behind my back, downloading 100's of Mb (am on my mobile connection), without my consent or approval and against my wish. Even o&o did not stop it this time (constantly needs a new version to keep up with microshit). Anyway, will let the up-down-date do it's dark task so I can investigate what new damage they are dishing out.

I had to install a fresh version of windows 10 yesterday and I have been banging my head on the wall since.

90% of the programs I want/need just will not install due to sha1 being abandoned in 2016.

I was very lucky with classic shell as I found a version from git hub that would work with the new version of 10.

Just had a read of it, I would be better off building a rig for that.
