Am considering getting the dreambox 500

Want to know if i can do the following:

1. Connect a bridge to it to work wirelessly with a netgear DG834GT modem/Router ?
2. If possible to make it wireless then is it possible to make firmware/sat key upgrades from a wireless centrino laptop pc ?
3. Also - can the dreambox be used a internet box for the PC with a keyboard to access websites etc using the connection to the wireless router/modem ?

Thanks guys

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Not sure I fully understand. You can get web browser plugins for the Dreambox, but I wouldn't recommend them for the 500 due to it's limited memory capacity.
You can see the details of a keyboard for it here :-

http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/english/products_keyboard.php

but it's more of a fancy remote control than anything else.

If you mean can the 500 connect to the Internet to download data directly, then yes it can.

I followed BGonaStick's How To using the identical equipment and so far have had NO luck in getting the wireless devices to "see" each other. All parts are set to static IP address. The Linksys WRT54G router is factory set at 192.168.1.1. The WET54G Bridge is set at 192.168.1.125, the DB500S is set at 192.168.1.150. My PC is set at 192.168.1.2. One difference was noted, on the WET54G Bridge there is no X-II switch. Does this indicate a crossover cable is needed between the DB and the Bridge? I've tried everything I can think of-no WEP, enable DCHP, nothing helps. Enabling DCHP caused an error message of an IP Address conflict. Any advise or suggestions. I NEED help!:-bash

After a long conversation with Linksys reps in India, I finally got the Router/Bridge working. Thanks everyone for your inputs.:)

just wondering how you got it to work?
i have a WET54G with the same dreambox and for some reason it just doesn't 'see' it. the ethernet LED is always off and the dreambox isn't recognising that a device is plugged in. any advice?!?!

This is a very old thread- try starting a new one with a specific question.
