At last I got some today, only a cheap pair from pc world 29.99 but they do the job well, my xbox is set back up after not been used for nearly 2 years, I can do what I want know without disturbing the wife happy times,

I will try and get a new actuator tomorrow and get some alterations done on my dish so I can see more of the arc, I will post some pictures up of the alterations as and when they happen.

Hi smoggy, ive not done much with them but the freq response is 20-20,000 HZ and they say 100mtr, full speck of the ones I have below, I have only had them on for around a hour (until she shut up:-rofl2 only joking) and I found them very comfortable :)

Nice find, I've just reserved myself some to collect after work tomorrow.
Did you take the 3 year cover for a tenner?

I've never been convinced those insurance cover things stack up, I prefer to save £10 and be philosophical about it.

Well I hope you like them smoggy, I am not sure if you have seen some of my post recently but I have 2 tvs in my living room, my wife has the run of her tv with sound I don't,

But I can now have my own fun of what I want all the time the sky go app will help me out at times and if worst comes to worst I can record from sky :)

EDIT

No I will never have extra cover you get more than a year sales of goods act is it ?

Normally I don't do the extended cover but if the battery starts to fail after year 2 you can get a new one or if the kids break them they can be returned.
I know there is house contents insurance for instances such as above but £10 for unlimited replacements seems like a good deal.
Ideally you shouldn't need the extra cover but after reading up on it I'm thinking about quizzing the shop later when I go in.

I bet whatever they say they won't deliver on it, the slimy gits.

I'd just go with the sale of goods act and the guarantee. Though I'd expect they would try to get out of that too.

Im on my second set of wireless cans. I listen to the foreign stuff & (more often) my rock mp3s and OH can have on whatever drivel shes into at the moment on Sky.

The current set are Sony - decent battery life even just running on 2 long life AAs. No idea what band they use but theres no interference from the wifi - just an occasional breakthrough burble if one of our mobile phones is too close.

I have Sennheizer HD170(?) wireless cans to listen to TV as I am hard of hearing and not all programs carry subtitles. They are pretty good but get tiring to wear after a few hours. Battery lasts well..but it goes on its charging stand after every use.

I got the Sony set martin-f linked to above and I'm listening to Dutch radio through them as I type this waiting for a bit of Pink Floyd, (Arrow Classic Rock arrow.nl ;)) and I must say I'm impressed with the quality

My last set of cans just happened to be Sennheizer wired/corded over the ear jobbies and I couldn't fault them (until I lost them to the young un lol)

Slightly OT but I used to listen to Arrow when they transmitted on the lower end of the MW band (675 KHz ISTR). Unfortunately they closed this down and went FM only.

I tried to listen to their Internet feed but found it was geolocked. Guess it must have chnged since then and I'll check again.

The best thing about listening to it (apart from the music!) was that the adverts, being in a foreign language, just washed past me without interfering wih my listening pleasure. Hope it's still the same.

Got some corded HD212s as well and they are very good. Cheap too. You can get a set for about £20-£25 quid.

I first discovered Arrow when scanning the MW band (yes it was 675) many years ago before they sold/lost the MW TX, back then they had on air presenters and news at the top of the hour but now its all automated with ad breaks and news during working hours (I think they went bankrupt or nearly did so had to lay off the on air staff)
