Sorting out the best position for a C band dish and the cable runs. Anyone have a wiring diagram setup for dual axis positioners and V boxes.

Is it a single or dual LNB ?

Reed switch actuators ?

If they are 36V motors, using the 4 electric type wires, then the diagram should be on the inside, of the motor.

I haven't got anything yet. looking to see what is best and what is involved. I thought I would get all the info from here before I spend and know the pitfalls before I start. i.e Maximum distance for cabling etc. Single LNB for starters. 1.8, maybe 2.4 dish.

The 1224 and actuator you are getting from me are standard screened cable (2 power + 2 sensor) so they will run from each of the V-Boxes.
If you have a twin C band LNB then again you can duplicate the two cable runs from the receiver (via a switch) and both will get the DiSEqC signals.

You will however need to store two positions in for each satellite, so the dish knows not to move when changing polarity, then move manually for the elevation. 1.2 allows for this.

Is the OP thinking of mounting a 2.4m dish on a Jaeger 1224? It was given the 1224 prefix for its use with a 1.2m channel master or a 2.4m Irte so it is within specification.

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

If your talking about the wire gauge for the motor wiring then go one gauge larger for every 50 feet of distance from the "V" box, this keeps the DC voltage drop down to a minimum, but I always go one gauge larger to begin with.

Most coax setups for a "C" band system have several wire pairs, one pair for the sensor, the other for the motor voltage, these are usually 14 to 16 gauge copper.

On long runs of coax I use them for the sensor and add a larger pair for the motor, this keeps the DC voltage drop down to a minimum.
