There I was being my usual congenial self (ahem) and checking out a request by someone on the forum and my ford anglia motor (that moves my dish) stopped working.

Horrors, how could it, and how could I fix this. To cut a long story short, having a couple of days off this week I decided to see what had happened. Sure enough looks like (and smells like) the windings have burnt out, then I noticed a second spade connector on the side and though what is this, connected up and whey hey I'm up and running again, I was forgetting that the wiper motor was two speed and I was using the slow speed. Still I am going to get my thinking cap on and see what I can replace it with.

That is a very interesting comment there PR as I too was under that impression and indeed remember my mate having a souped up Anglia (that frightened one to death) with exactly that problem. I suspect that as the vacuum ones were so poor in the execution of their duty, somebody discovered a mod using another part however it was a long time ago but I am posting the offending equipment in case anyone does recognise it.

:-rofl2 Couldn't stop laughing after reading that ;-)))

Why? My mind got to thinking that Topper's sat install now resembles a radar install as the dish swipes left-to-right and back again, hehe.

Does your STB do this now?

Just joking ;-))

Very Odd??

Seems like the connection comes and goes - much like a radar, lol.

If the above link didn't work try this one instead

I never heard a radar make that sound.... :-rofl2

Reminds me of when I was watching a video shot on a ferry near the radar thing and you could hear a hum in time with the radar spinning thingy.... :D

Here you go Topper, a Ford Angular, sorry Anglia, 105e wiper motor & assembly, and the motor looks like the one fitted to your dish, minus the rust... :D

Here's a 100e Vacuum motor for comparison:
