:: PlusNet has become the latest UK ISP to launch a new low-cost broadband package for the consumer market, which it claims enables first time users to save over £115 on the average set-up cost, in a bid to lure more subscribers. The new PlusNet service, EasyStart, includes a free USB modem and free activation, and costs just £27.99 per month. PlusNet said it has also thrown spam and virus protection, which normally costs £23.88 per year, for free.

:: Yahoo! has reported a 42% jump in revenue during the three months to $321.4m (£197m), up from $225.8m (£138m) in the second quarter last year. Net income more than doubled to $50.8m 9£31m), from $21.4m (£13m), representing the company's fifth consecutive quarter of net profitability.

:: Online auction giant eBay has announced an expanded partnership with MSN that will see MSN promote its marketplace to more than 300m unique users worldwide. The new deal builds on an existing partnership signed between the two companies in March 2001, to improve the e-commerce experience for customers by providing integration between their Web sites. The latest agreement will allow customers of MSN to receive direct links to eBay for items related to their search queries from the MSN home page, MSN Search, MSN Shopping and MSN Auctions.
