When you found what you thought was thor, did you then scan it on the receiver to check that it was?
ahh have to admit no i didnt ,when i looked at the signal strength it was a bit low maybe 65 was i wrong??

OK up to point 7, then you should come down and send the motor to your reference sat and then align on that. If using 1W 11325h

You are almost there and think the problem may be your not finding your ref satellite.... the most important part of the installation. No need to nudge the motor East or west once you are on your ref satellite, just scan and see. We will get you there :D

hehe i think am a glutton for punishment :-rofl2but ill keep trying picking up so much good advice and tips thanks to all

No, your motor is the right way up, but your dish looks way to high in elevation.

Agree, exactly what I thought when I looked at it re the El.

Your mate most probably has a stab motor of which is the other way round. The F connections should always be facing underneath OR down :D

Yes dish looks way too high, also declination angle looks high from photo.

I would recheck all angles

Ah, just thought, the original poster says that he has changed to T&K brackets, so that may be an old photograph, just to show his motor. :)

I still believe that a back to stage one approach is what needs to be done. Take the motor and dish off of the mast. Send the motor to its zero point using the receiver, then reset the motor using the reset button in the small hole on the body.

Reset the receiver so that it isn't remembering any of the wrong settings, set the latitude setting on the motor body to your latitude (not the elevation setting), then mount the dish again, making sure it is perfectly positioned on the arm.

Once that's done, go to my setup procedure and follow it to the letter.

Also, I may have missed it, but I dont think you mentioned whether you had set your Lat/Long in the receiver, You'll need to get that right if you are using GotoX,

Your missus must be loving you right now:-rofl2

story so far was getting 4 satalites ,and was steadyily getting there, but box packed in on me,so tried with a 500s i had laying around ,managed to get new image on and got thor on it so scanned and got the channels then it asked if i wanted to scan anoth sat ,said yes and the motor moved ,but when i looked out the window it was way past what it should have been, tried a manul turning of the motor ,it wouldnt budge, went back up ladder and i couldnt see any power to it tried to reset and press the button to move ,nothing ,took the dish off and the motor and tried to run the motor and my mates and couldnt get anything from it at all,so now i have one box not working(its under waranty)one box which is,one dish which is ok and one motor which i suspect is knackered ,lucky white heather or what :roflmao:but i wont be beating i know i can do it so im gonna wait till i get fresh supplies :roflmao:

I'd be surprised if the motor packed in so quickly, I'd suspect that the was nothing more wrong than some settings in the dreambox when you tried to move it,

Is the green LED underneath the motor coming on when you have it hooked up? It should be a constant green when the motor is connected but idle.
